“I’m extremely fortunate to be in the business of helping my clients achieve their life goals.”
I was born in a small mid-western town, but raised throughout the United States, having been a child of divorce from a military household. This upbringing provided a unique appreciation for different cultures and experiences that instilled a passion for lifelong learning, travel and great food!
I earned my undergraduate degree in Fine Art Photography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I then earned my Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Shidler College of Business, where I focused on Finance and Entrepreneurship. I earned my law degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s William S. Richardson School of Law and am admitted to practice law in Hawaii.
In 2007, I founded 3 Financial Group, an independent financial services firm. I designed my business to create a space for professional women and the LGBTQ+ to participate in creating comprehensive lifetime financial plans focused on their unique desires and ambitions.
I volunteer in various local, regional and national organizations, believing that seeing first-hand how our community works and what our community needs gives us a sense of ownership in our community.
I am a core volunteer with AARP Hawaii’s speaker’s bureau and speak at community outreach programs throughout Hawaii. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Honolulu, where I am serving as President. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Mediation Center of the Pacific. My favorite volunteer work is fostering kittens for the Hawaiian Humane Society!
Previously I served as Chair of the Board for Planned Parenthood of Hawaii, President of AAUW Honolulu Branch, Trustee of AAUW Honolulu Branch Educational Fund, President of AAUW Hawaii, President of the Foundation of the Rotary Club of Honolulu, and as a national Director for AAUW. I also served on the boards of directors of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands, and Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky. I served my country as a soldier and public affairs specialist in the Hawaii Army National Guard.
Least Known Fact About Me:
I am also a fine-art photographer and have had my work exhibited in both group and solo shows. I lived in Mexico and speak Spanish. Bringing the two together, I was commissioned to photograph the tequila making process for a Las Vegas tequila bar.
