“I’m extremely fortunate to be in the business of helping my clients achieve their life goals.”
I was born in a small mid-western town but raised throughout the United States, having been a child of divorce from a military household. This upbringing provided a unique appreciation for different cultures and experiences that instilled a passion for lifelong learning, travel, and great food!
I earned my undergraduate degree in Fine Art Photography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I then earned my Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Shidler College of Business, where I specialized in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
I host ongoing educational workshops and have been invited to be a guest speaker at a variety of local organizations. Additionally, my writing has been published and I have been profiled several times in the local media. I am a core volunteer with AARP Hawaii’s speaker’s bureau and speak at community outreach programs throughout Hawaii.
I volunteer in various local organizations, believing that seeing first-hand how our community works and what our community needs gives us a sense of ownership in our community. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Honolulu. I’m the Chair of the Board of Directors of AAUW Honolulu Branch, and I serve on the Boards of Directors of Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky and Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands. I am also a Trustee for the AAUW Honolulu Branch Educational Foundation and the Foundation of the Rotary Club of Honolulu. Previously I also served on the national Board of Directors of AAUW.
I have always had an interest in financial matters and have developed my business model around empowering women by helping them take control of their financial futures. I devote personal time advocating for women’s issues and appreciate the value of establishing a solid financial base in one’s personal and business life.
Least Known Fact About Me
I am also a fine-art photographer and have had my work exhibited in both group and solo shows. I lived in Mexico and speak Spanish. Bringing the two together, I was commissioned to photograph the tequila making process for a Las Vegas tequila bar.
